FOR TODAY … 29 September 2008

Outside My Window… Lowering gray skies and an active black squirrel.

I am thinking… I really need to stop playing on the Internet and get some work done!

I am thankful for…some wonderful old friends with whom I had a terrific and social weekend.

From the kitchen… something quick, tuna melts maybe.  We have a Bible study group tonight.

I am wearing…a pinky/peachy crinkly shirt, khakis and my comfy Born clogs.  It’s starting to be too cold for open-toed shoes.  😦

I am creating… a new quilt that I’m just starting to cut fabrics out for.  All pretty and pastel-y.

I am going… to rein my spending back in.  We have a tight budget and I was a little… careless this weekend.  😉

I am reading… Heidi’s Children.  Yes, that Heidi.  The original author’s translator wrote two follow-up novels featuring our favorite Alpine heroine, and Heidi’s Children in particular is very good.  (The first sequel is Heidi Grows Up.)

I am hoping… my friends return home to Georgia safely and without problems today.  That part of the South has been experiencing serious gasoline shortages since Hurricane Ike disrupted their pipeline.

I am hearing… traffic outside.

Around the house… we need to start putting the beds to, well, bed for the winter.  We are probably not more than two weeks away from our first frost.

One of my favorite things… shopping with my two best girlfriends, like we did Friday.  It’s been SO long!

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week… Since my boss is out of town, I am responsible for month-end tomorrow.  Uh oh…

My Picture Thought … my next Starbucks order:

The Simple Woman is the original home of The Simple Woman’s Daybook.

The Simple Woman’s Daybook will take place each Monday.

Here’s how to take part:

1. Write up and publish your journal page using the questions/picture ideasI have listed below onto your blog. Be as descriptive as you can! This makes it more interesting to your readers. (You may cut and paste them for the purpose to participate in The Simple Woman’s Daybook.)

2. Copy the “permalink” from your “The Simple Woman’s Daybook” post, not the link to the front page of your blog. This will make it much easier for others to find instead of looking through the entire list of entries at your blog for your “daybook”. This will save time for all of us.

3. Come back here and add your permalink to Mister Linky.
