FOR TODAY … 18 November, 2010

Outside My Window…  heavy and grey skies, trees studded with crabapples.

I am thinking… that it has been SO long since I did a Daybook post!  😦  I have had a case of the blues… I don’t do so well with diminishing daylight.

I am thankful for… a full tummy.  That was a good sandwich.  😉

From the kitchen… something simple and snacky.  I am on my own this week.  😀

I am wearing… taupe knit cardigan, black slacks and shoes.

I am creating… cutting out bits of Lila Tueller’s Santorini fabric here at the office.  Sewing on a binding on a quilt at home.

I am going… to take sleeping pills tonight so maybe the dang cats won’t keep me up all night!

I am reading… from a fabulous Amazon UK reseller, Jane Brocket’s Cherry Cake and Ginger Beer. (I say “fabulous” because pricing on this out-of-print book is getting obscene, and these folks had it at reasonable cost and charged reasonable international shipping.) It features tons of recipes that are highlighted in a number of classic children’s stories.  Should be fun to experiment with over the holidays when I have some time off.

I am hoping… that hubby has a safe trip up North and back.

I am hearing…  the voices of auditors down the hall. (ick)

Around the house… lovely how clean the house stays when the male presence is removed for a while!

One of my favorite things… the knowledge that I can sleep in the next morning.  😉

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week… sewing, resting…

My Picture Thought … I will do a full-on post of my one-day road trip from last month where I took some lovely autumn pictures.  But this is a favorite, especially today when the sky is dull and the leaves are gone.  This tree was front of a home in Port Sanilac, Michigan:
