This is the first quilt I ever started. It came from an online forum where a group of quilters were making a block each month, with themes to represent each month of the year. I’ve worked on other things in the interim, plus lost time when trying to replace fabrics which had been discontinued. The blocks are 12 inches (finished size) and all is handstitched. The fabrics were from an old Moda line called Vienna Nights, and a number of the prints have musical motifs.
Some blocks are self-explanatory… the snowman in January, the heart in February, etc., but non-quilters may not know that the block for June (second row on the right) is called the Wedding Ring, and July’s image of a center square flanked by triangles in each corner is a Shoo Fly.
Without too much difficulty, this will hopefully be in a quilting frame within a month.
I didn’t realize my lighting at the time was so poor. I’ll have to try again when I have sunlight and am home at the same time! 😉
Great job April! Can’t wait to see it all put together!
Did you lock up your kitties? Max and Leo would be posing on top of the quilt if that were taken in my house! 🙂
Yes, as a matter of fact, they WERE locked up! Laying fabric pieces down on the floor seems to bring cats from the nether regions of the house more quickly than opening a can of tuna. *rolling eyes*
Anabelle was all over them in a heartbeat, and when I scolded her, she took off, scattering fabric with her back paws. Then Saffi started chasing the scattered pieces. Good grief…
