FOR TODAY … 8 December, 2010
Outside My Window… long shadows from partly sunny skies, brisk cold air
I am thinking… that there is too much paper on my desk. I mean, seriously…
I am thankful for… pleasant co-workers and a happy work environment.
From the kitchen… I think quiche. It’s been a while since I made it, and will come together quickly.
I am wearing… winter white knit cardigan, black slacks and black boots.
I am creating… am starting to piece the Santorini fabrics wallhanging.
I am going… to grocery shop. We’re low on a lot of things, and snow is a-comin’!
I am reading… just finished The Red Pyramid by Rick Riordan. In spite of my decades long love affair with Ancient Egypt, I didn’t like this story as much as his Lightning Thief series (which featured ancient Greek mythology set in the 21st century.) Pyramid leaves you hanging for the sequel, but I think I’ll let it go.
I am hoping… that this headache and nose tingle are not forewarnings of a headcold.
I am hearing… various conversations.
Around the house… tubs needs a cleaning. Then I can soak. 😀
One of my favorite things… nesting in during a snowstorm, with a well-stocked pantry.
A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week… just catching up at home and work.
My Picture Thought … in early November, we were out to eat and found a forlorn rosebush leaning over a sidewalk by the restaurant. One branch still bore some perfect white blooms in spite of a number of hard frosts to date. On the way back to the car, fearful of someone trampling on it (and wanting it for ourselves LOL), hubby cut off the branch and it came safely home with us. It lasted for about a week after that! One of my grandpa’s favorite songs was the “Last Rose of Summer”, so this was for him. 😉
Lovely roses!
Hoping you feel better soon!
