While I have been derelict in my blogging and not terribly productive on the creative side either, I have been working on a few things. Currently on my sewing table is a quilt created from Kate Spain’s fabric line “Terrain”:
…married to this great pattern from Cluck Cluck Sew:
I assure you I was not attempting to be clever in using Ms. Spain’s fabrics in a quilt called Seville; however there was something about these fabrics showcased in blocks like this pattern that made me think of the tile work seen throughout the Iberian Peninsula, and I thought the combination would work well. 🙂
Also seen below is my new sewing machine, the Husqvarna Viking Sapphire 875Q. I have had it for less than a year, and am really pleased. More on that later.
For now, I’m still cutting and piecing, cutting and piecing.
Can’t wait to see all come together…Love that line of fabric!
Also in envy of that machine…nice throat space. LOVE that standing tool case too!
I am really pleased with the machine so far. And my quilting case… I should write about that as well. I still can’t believe my luck, finding it all alone on the bottom, dusty, otherwise empty shelf at JoAnn’s. I can’t imagine sewing without it now.
Can’t wait to see your finished quilt. I love this fabric line every bit as much as when i first saw it. Bought a fat quarterbundle of it and am making a samplerquilt with it. I totally fear not having enough of it to finish without adding other fabrics but the fabrics are simply too pretty to not use. Should have bought more *grin*
